Thomas Gregory
Scientific Software Engineer
I build predictive models that work at scale—from finite element solvers for ocean dynamics to continent-wide climate risk pipelines. I pick the right tool for the problem and make it run in production.
What I Do
I'm a Scientific Software Engineer at Climate X, building geophysical and financial models for climate risk—catastrophe modelling, expected annual losses, adaptation costs. Before that, I spent five years at Imperial College developing solvers for ocean and plasma simulations.
I like working across abstraction boundaries—from algorithm design to production infrastructure, from domain scientists to end users. The common thread is starting with the problem and figuring out what actually solves it.
